I am drawn to the aesthetic of the relic; of a long-hidden object unearthed to communicate a story from another place and time.

I create abstract reliefs from a variety of metals, exploiting the material's natural discoloration and corrosive properties to emulate generations of exposure. Binding offset planes of material, I design and build layered structures that cast shadows and create half-hidden spaces to explore.

To me, metal conveys a sense of permanence - an underlying theme of all of my pieces. Construction of my work is inspired, in part, from the materials and industrial fabrication methods I was exposed to while working in the aircraft manufacturing industry.

All of my work, from initial pencil sketch through detail design, color treatment, and assembly is entirely inspired by my life experience. The shapes, aesthetics, and emotions that most impact me personally are directly reflected in the tone and style of my art.  Communicating this sincerely, without artificial enhancement, is precisely what makes this endeavor worthwhile for me.
